About Industrial Packaging
It is better to break the term 'Industrial Packaging' into two words like industrial packaging materials to understand the concept of industrial packaging more clearly. The term 'industrial' has been derived from the industry, which can be defined as a business entity or factory where all the workers coordinate their efforts to achieve organizational goals . According to dictionary meaning packaging refers to a collection of products or things wrapped or tied in a systematic manner to give attractive look and ensure preservation of products. Thus, industrial packaging in a combined form means the packing of products, which is provided by industries. Industrial Packaging for raw materials, components, consumer goods, partially manufactured or finished goods, apparels & accessories and various other articles should essentially has been done either by manufacturers or distributors.

History
In the ancient time, men used to fulfill the needs of packaging through leaves, animal skin, woven baskets and terracotta. Those sources of packaging were very rudimentary from today's point of view. At the end of 19th century, cardboard box was invented for transportation of goods. In 1933, polythene was invented as the first plastic for packaging purpose. In 1940, the packaging was started for food materials. Cans came into existence in 1960.
Need for Industrial Packaging
The industrial packaging is primarily required to ensure the quality and newness of products for long time. Today, everybody is endeavoring to use the most environmentally friendly materials for packaging purpose that may not be essentially suitable to preserve the quality and sustainability of products.
